Hi all, just thought id introduce my project.

At present i have 2 to Toyotas, a Sera and a Starlet GT.

My plan was to use the 5efhe in my manual starlet and run it with a TD04. but i also wanted to do the reverse modification of using the 4efte with a ct20 hyrbrid in the Sera, the appeal of the auto box for the straights sounds good also.

i will post my updates for the Sera as they happen. Thanks!

Sounds easier than the turbo mini project, but all 3 sound good to me :)

cool so a little update for you all;

so first place was to obviously remove the 5efhe motor... crazy how heavy those auto boxes are!

and of course the 4efte out of my GT:

once done it was a strip down job, i then got the flywheels machined so the auto fly would fit the 4e crank:

so with everything stripped and in pieces it was a case of working backwards and rebuilding the motor... starting with the block and pistons:

so in a nut shell -

pistons all cleaned ready for ringing:

block re surfaced and honed:

next steps - rings, pistons installed, head cleaned and remounted (+ general engine rebuild)
